Introducing SorareData memberships

SorareData launched on 5 June 2020 by a single Sorare manager looking to organize relevant market and player score data into a single tool. At the time of launch, 1,042 managers owned at least one card, 677 owned at least two and 395 owned at least 10; as of 1 August 2022, 141,081 own at least one card, 116,356 own at least two, and 59,271 own at least 10. Sorare’s growth has been similarly met by extreme SorareData growth, and we’re extremely proud that roughly 80% of Sorare active managers use SorareData, including more than 85% of reward-winning managers.

We continue to be extremely thankful for those who donated to SorareData over the past few years, and to all of our users who have helped develop some of our tools and features with their feedback and suggestions. Our $700K pre-seed fundraising round back in September 2021 helped kickstart our expansion, which we have done by hiring nine full-time employees who have reshaped SorareData into what it is today. Whether you have enjoyed our redesigned pages, used our mobile apps, spent time using our newly built tools, or watched our streams and read our newsletters, none of those things would have been possible without our fundraising round, and obviously not possible without your constant support and valuable feedback.

And as Sorare grows into other sports, like Major League Baseball, we will grow as well. Whatever new sports await us in 2022 and beyond, our primary goal is to ensure that SorareData continues to be the most helpful tool for making Sorare managers more successful. In order to help facilitate that growth, we are offering SorareData memberships starting August 18th.

We have been transparent that SorareData would not always be free, and we recognize that not everyone uses SorareData the same; because of that, we are offering different memberships based on which tools and features you use more regularly. We also understand that not everyone is excited about this, but we believe it is the best path to allow SorareData to continue to innovate and grow, making it even more helpful for all types of Sorare managers.

To ensure we take the time to build the best Sorare: MLB tools, and let thousands of users discover the ecosystem, we’re excited to announce that all Sorare MLB data and features will be free to use for the foreseeable future.

Additionally, every new feature (football and baseball) we develop will be free for at least two weeks after its release. That way, every Sorare manager can access our new tools and experience everything we’ve built. New to the ecosystem or trying to figure out if we’re worth it? No worries, everyone is getting two weeks of unlimited access to SorareData.

Why can’t SorareData stay free?

Simply put: we’ve reached the limitations of what could be done by one person working on a side project. Instead of maintaining the SorareData of two years ago, we decided to greatly enhance the site with a multitude of improvements and constant innovation that we feel has benefitted the entire Sorare community, and a subscription model allows us to go much further than an ad-based one.

What types of memberships do you have?

We are launching with three memberships with the goal of offering value to Sorare managers at various levels. Rookie will be free, followed by Pro and Star, which will cost €/£/$4.99 and €/£/$9.99 per month, or you can get two months free with a one-year subscription for €/£/$49 or €/£/$99.

We will also launch a Legend membership in the future to include detailed advanced accounting tools, portfolio analysis, CSV downloads, and more for insatiable Sorare managers. This tier will not affect Pro and Star memberships, and will only introduce new features.

Can I still use SorareData without paying?

Absolutely! Many of the features you come accustomed to using every day during your Sorare journey will remain free with our Rookie membership, such as the auctions and offers pages, the gameweek center, your gallery information, including SO5 results and history, your manager history, detailed game and team pages, and more. What are the differences between the tiers?

Check out our comprehensive list of tools available for each membership level, with the knowledge that the higher tiers will include everything from the tiers below them.

Is the mobile app still free?

Yes, you can still download our iOS/Android app and use it for free. However, the features on our website that require a SorareData membership will also require them within our mobile app.

Please note that the mobile app paywall will be introduced shortly after the web app paywall. You will then be able to subscribe directly from your mobile app and paywalled features will only be deployed then. It is mainly done to encourage our users to subscribe through the web app.

Please note that our new memberships are initially being deployed to our web app, but we anticipate they will be on the mobile app shortly. Until then, you won’t notice any changes.

What if I only want baseball?

At launch, all SorareData users will be able to access our MLB tools. However, our plan is to follow what we’ve done with football and create more helpful features that will require a SorareData membership in the future.

Do you offer any free trials?

Yes, we do! We offer free 3-day Pro and 2-week Star membership trials. Please note that users are limited to only one trial, so please choose wisely!

What is the relationship between SorareData and Sorare?

From its inception, SorareData has been an independent, third-party companion app for Sorare managers. All full-time SorareData employees are registered Sorare managers, and most actively participate in tournaments and card trading. We believe that playing Sorare is critical to understanding the platform, which allows us to provide the best service to our members.

While SorareData continues to be independent, Sorare was one of a number of investors that participated in our $700K pre-seed funding round back in September 2021. Introducing memberships also allows us to be more financially independent of external funding, including from Sorare, which will help us develop tools for other sports and fantasy games in the future.
