Projected Lineups Competition Updates [Updated]

The SorareData Projected Lineups Competition has become a vital tool for Sorare managers, as it provides a unique competition to win rewards while also helping to build better SO5 lineups with our Lineup Builder.

That being said, we recognize that it can be improved, and we wanted to address some of the more popular feedback we received, such as:

• Competing for the Global Leaderboard was too time consuming, as it is too difficult to keep up for most managers, and it does not incentivize league or region specialization;
• The quantity of projections is being prioritized over the quality of projections;
• Rewards distribution is too slow.

Based on internal discussions and user feedback, we are announcing a number of changes we believe will benefit even more managers.

NEW LEADERBOARDS AND REWARDS DISTRIBUTION

Instead of a global ranking that covers all competitions, we will now have regional rankings similar to Sorare:

• Champion Europe
• Challenger Europe
• Champion America
• Champion Asia
• Second Division Europe

The top 10 managers in each region will receive rare cards as rewards. We are confident this new ranking structure will be more motivating for players, and easier to understand for newcomers.

Additionally, competitors will be eligible to win a maximum of one regional reward per cycle. For example: a manager who finishes first in Challenger Europe and second in Champion America will only be eligible to win the Star rare card from Challenger Europe.

This change should not only allow more users to win rewards, but it can also reduce the number of projections required to compete at the highest levels.

The regional rankings will be scored on a monthly cycle, similar to the league rankings, which will also help us deliver rewards faster. Regions will be open if at least two leagues within the region are active during a game week.

LEAGUE LEADERBOARD REWARDS BREAKDOWN

The regional and league rankings are based on the number of minted cards, and are therefore subject to change if the number of licensed teams changes. Leagues with more minted cards, and therefore more lineups to project, are given higher-tier rewards.

Major League Soccer, the English Premier League, Eredivisie, LaLiga Santander, LaLiga Smartbank, and German Bundesliga have the most number of minted players, which is why users projecting lineups from those leagues will have the opportunity to win the highest-tiered rewards. If the number of minted teams changes, we will update the reward distribution accordingly.

Users can win a maximum of two league prizes per cycle, in addition to any regional reward.

These changes will take effect at the end of the current cycle, which concludes with Game week 367, and the new monthly ranking will begin May 2 with Game week 368. As a reminder, we take into account the start date of the Game week to determine which month it belongs to.

For example: Game week 367 starts on April 28 and ends on May 2, which means it will count in the April cycle.

To ensure consistency with the rewards, we have decided to offer only All-Star rewards without making regional distinctions like we previously did. That being said, the value of the rewards will remain similar.

We have also updated the reward tiers and pools to better reflect the price differences between places. The value of the rewards remain unchanged, but these adjustments will allow for a more equitable distribution.

NEW COMPETITION RULES

And finally, we have decided to adjust the rules by imposing a penalty for incorrect projections:

• -0.1 for an incorrect starting player
• -0.05 for an incorrect substitute or out-of-squad player

We received lots of feedback that the competition prioritized the quantity of projections over the quality, and we believe these new rules will help alleviate those concerns.
