Pausing SorareData leagues and cups

We are pausing SD leagues and cups for the upcoming gameweeks to prepare for new competitions and formats.

Why are we doing this?

With the introduction of limited cards in August 2021, a lot of new players arrived on Sorare. With rare cards being too expensive for many, a majority of new players started playing with limited cards only.

However, SorareData side games did not include limited cards until now, spoiling the fun for new players wanting to play in side games.

Now that limited cards are widespread and used by many, we have decided to introduce limited-only competitions alongside rare/super rare/unique competitions.

To make sure we do it right, we are pausing the SD gaming arena for a least one weekend (most probably two) before relaunching.

What’s next?

There will be two SD league formats: one for limited cards only, and one for rare, super rare and unique cards. Players will be able to enter both leagues.

We will also run cups the same way: for example, we will have a Champion Europe Cup for limited cards only, and a separate one for rare, super rare and unique cards. Players will be able to enter both cups.

Prize pools will be enhanced! The cup format will not be winner takes all, and we look forward to introducing detailed prize pools as we confirm them.

We look forward to reintroducing new free-to-play innovative formats such as the “Play like Zuraw Cup”, where managers play with another manager’s gallery to prove they‘re truly the best Sorare manager around.

We will restart all cups over the next few gameweeks, and SD League Season 5 rewards will be distributed next week.
